Event Organisers Update

PETER COTTERELL

Peter Cotterell is the general manager of the Society of Event Organisers and specialises in training and publishing for the events industry.

On the training side he presents seminars on all aspects of running conferences and the event industry’s only short dedicated course qualification, the four day Certificate in Conference Organisation (CCO). He is the author of an organisers textbook Conferences – an organisers guide and 2007 sees the launch of a 12 day Diploma in Conference Organisation (DCO) also with an examination and qualification.

In addition to courses for conference organisers he also runs short workshops for conference and event venues, in aspects of marketing and PR, and for exhibitors in the art and craft of exhibiting including a four day course with an examination and qualification, the Certificate in Exhibition Management (CEM). As an events author, journalist and trainer he is also available for in-house training events and for speaking on event subjects. He is 60 years old (2008) is married with two grown up sons, lives in Bedfordshire, and has absolutely no friends on Facebook.
