The CCO is awarded to delegates who have taken all four one day seminars as below, and who have achieved a pass mark in the examination set. The course is presented at your premises for one or more delegates. The full programme for achievement of a CCO qualification is:
PUTTING TOGETHER A CONFERENCE PROGRAMME
This looks at the objectives for staging the event, the likely needs of the delegates attending, room layouts and their effect on these, formulating the timings, organising the food and beverage, and speaker and audio visual considerations.
SOURCING, EVALUATING AND NEGOTIATING WITH VENUES
This covers such aspects as choosing a destination, finding the best sources of impartial information, types of venue available, visiting to evaluate, preparing for a negotiating session, calculating the vale of the event to the venue and strategies to secure the best packages.
CONFERENCE ADMINISTRATION
This pulls together all the important detail involved in putting together the event, aspects such as checking and signing venue contracts, registration, badging, delegate materials, on-site organisation, signage, care of delegates and speakers, trouble-shooting and event evaluation.
STAGING A CONFERENCE FOR PROFIT
This explores a number of the commercial considerations such as conception and positioning, costing and budgeting, pricing, framing the offer, marketing for maximum attendance and getting sponsorship.
Examination.
The fee for the CCO is £1000, plus £100 per delegate, or £800, plus £80 per delegate for SEO members. (Free sign-up at www.seoevent.co.uk) Extra would be second class rail travel and accommodation as required, by arrangement. There is no VAT as the society has de-registered.
